"The West Parry Sound Health Centre and the associated communities have enjoyed the services of a comprehensive Ophthalmologist for the past ten years. With the support of the hospital as well as Ministry of Health this has expanded to include surgical services including, but not limited to, cataract surgery.

As the next logical step in expansion of services the provision of laser eye care surgery would be a tremendous move forward. The use of lasers in Ophthalmology has been in existence for the past thirty years. Today lasers are used extensively in the treatment and management of various types of eye diseases including glaucoma as well as diabetes. "
