Lasik Laser Eye Surgery Set To Boom
As the technology improves more and more people are considering laser eye surgery for vision correction. But there are now several different approaches to performing the same operation - that of remodeling the lens of the eye so that sight correction becomes unnecessary. So what does LASIK mean and why is it becoming more popular? LASIK is an acronym for laser-assisted in situ keratomileiusis - a long expression for something that is fairly easy to understand.
This type of eye surgery is now becoming ever more popular and prices are falling all the time. Five years ago, prices were well over $2000 per eye, now it's available for as little as $1700 per eye. Still not cheap, but definitely worth it if you want to be rid of spectacles forever. It's a ten minute operation for each eye with a three day recovery time. But beware of practitioners offering much lower rates - such as $499 per eye - this cost usually masks other costs that will make the total operation much more expensive in the long run.
